The Examination of a Teen Killer Essay Every Year there is a reported deathly school shooting around the world. Every year it is the same story about how a frustrated teen takes out his anger on the fellow students at school. In the next upcoming paragraphs I will digress on The Killer at Thurston High’s actions through Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology. Kip Kinkel had psychological problems at a young age. His family went to live in Spain for a year; this is where the problems began. Kip was only in the first grade and he was just learning English and since he was able to speak just in English, he would have difficulties understanding his Spanish teacher. Kip’s frustration came from his past language experiences, and also the never-ending weight on him of living up to the Kinkel name. It was way too much for a preteen like Kip to be involved with. He had the all-American: â€Å"perfect family†, if you will, but in his mind he did not feel welcomed. Kip thought of himself as the imperfect son, his sister on the other hand was athletic, smart, and well known by almost everyone in their community. The Kinkel parents were highly respected because of their field of a teaching career. This all left Kip down and depressed during most periods of his life. On May 21, Kinkel had been suspended for bringing a firearm to school the previous day, the suspension day came and Kip reacted by driving his father’s car to school. The 15 year old was covered by a trench coat with a 9-mm Glock and a 22-calibur pistol hidden underneath. Kip Kinkel opened fire in the cafeteria of Thurston High School in Springfield Oregon, killing two students and injuring as many as 20 others. The explanations of his actions are indescribable. From a sociologist stand point, how Kip reacted towards weapons would be a major factor to keep in mind. In this case Kip resolved many of his solutions by either firing guns that he’d gotten from his father, or by detonating home-made explosives. This shows how Kip Kinkel deals with his emotions on the inside. After the crisis at Thurston High school, the sheriffs deputies went to the Kinkel residence. There they found loud music playing in the main living room and the rotten smell of decaying bodies. During the confession tape of Kip Kinkel, he said that he loved his parents dearly, and that he â€Å"had to do it†. The deputies found the body of William P. Kinkel, 59 covered by a sheet in the first floor bathroom. Kip’s mother Faith M. Kinkel, 57 was found later in the garage  also covered by a white sheet. An anthropologist could only describe the purpose of the blaring music being played. Kip grew up listening to a lot of violent music, watching many death related movies, and also just becoming inflicted by the social media around him. Kip Kinkel felt that he had to do what he did in order to achieve bliss. These anthropological factors had a big influence on all of the actions that Kip pursued. In my opinion, this entire turn of deathly events could only be controlled through Kip Kinkel’s personal and psychological mind. As it was stated before, Kip grew up feeling that he was unwelcome and always alone in his life. This made him very frustrated and upset with himself, thus resulting in his aggressive solutions, (firearms and explosives). So if Kip grew up believing that he was a good kid, and that he could actually achieve other things that other people could do, he wouldn’t have been the Killer at Thurston High. In conclusion, the fact that Kipland Kinkel was raised in a different country and held back a grade made him a frustrated child right from the start. He was also an all American kid, who was raised around heavy firearms and this impacted his decisions to express his emotions violently. The final point that describes Kip’s actions is how he always listened to aggressive and shallow music, which resulted in him being more deep and dark, and also made him feel like he needed to do the things he did in order to move on. So the story of Kipland Kinkel is an older one, but keep in mind that something like this could happen anywhere!

Cablevision Term Paper :: essays research papers

Introduction   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  For the past twenty years my family has been subscribed to Cablevision for cable services. I have enjoyed the eighty channels and special movie channels that they offer. The excellent service they have provided for many years only gets better. When Cablevision came out with IO digital cable my family upgraded. I no longer have to go out and rent movies. Instead I now order them from the television. Instead of eighty channels there are now hundreds of channels to choose from. The variety of things to watch on my television is unlimited. Many of neighbors that used to have satellite television were unhappy with the service. I recommended them to switch over to Cablevision. When they made the switch they were extremely pleased with the service. My family also uses their service of Optimum Online for our computer. We used to have a dial up service that took forever until we upgraded to Optimum Online. The internet is now extremely fast on my computer, and I have never had to wait for anything to load ever since. We also use Optimum voice which has so many options to use. There is enhanced voicemail, call waiting, and caller ID helps making phone calls better. I am a fan of the New York Rangers and the New York Knick’s in which Cablevision owns. Ever since I was a little kid I would wear jerseys of the Knick’s and Rangers and go to some of their games. Although I wish I had season tickets for both teams, I was still able to watch them play on television. Many people do not have the privilege of Cablevision’s services. Instead they have satellite television which they think is much better than Cablevision. However, they are extremely wrong in making that statement. My neighbor had satellite television for three years and was fed up with it after those years. The best time to watch a good movie is when it is raining outside and there is nothing to do. The only problem is that whenever it is raining or there is a storm outside, the satellite does not work properly. This causes everyone to be unable to watch television. With Cablevision you can watch you TV anytime you want without any interruptions. As you watch TV you can watch the Knick’s and Rangers play and call up your friends using Optimum Voice and tell them about the great service Cablevision offers.

It appears this company has a ways to go to achieve adequate levels of diversity within the organization as a whole. Achieving Better EEO OutcomesBased upon the available information and prior knowledge of Tanglewood’s recruiting process and its successes, It is currently advised that Tanglewood should continue on the course of internal recruitment that is currently in place. The prior success speaks for itself and due to the major lack of substantial evidence that suggest this one particular party has been discriminated against would make changing the protocol for promotion an ill-advised decision. Tanglewood has a reputat ion for hiring minorities and establishing a culture that bases its reward system upon the ctions and work record of the people it promotes. Based upon the information in the case it appears that the law firm of Eaglette-Schubert is currently contacting other employees and encouraging them to band together in a law suit of Tanglewood. The attempted contacting of the employee (Mr. Root) by Ms. Gonzalez Tanglewood and his subsequent response to Ms. Gonzalez suggest that Mr. Root has the intentions of creating negative publicity and has been in contact with the law firm with whom are taking his case.In addition his actions based upon the information provided do not represent the level of loyalty and respect for the organization that is required of persons that are wishing to be promoted to higher levels within the organization. This neither information that we are provided does not provide nor give sufficient insight to this case that should/would warrant the need for Tanglewood to cha nge/adjust its current promotion system for employees. Promotion and Career Development ChangesTanglewood is known for its culture and philosophy to provide the best work environment and customer service in the retail industry. Tanglewood also prides itself on allowing employees to grow and develop through its management training programs; however, it is essential for Tanglewood’s current HR staff and executive management team to be particularly aware of the statistical numbers of its management staff and to continue to recruit and employ a good, diverse group of candidates to be considered for management.In an effort to increase the level of minorities employed in the management program, it its proposed that Tanglewood recruits from primarily minority institutions and groups. Tanglewood can also use external sources that focus and cater to minority employment. Tanglewood can also continue to promote their philosophy, work environment and commitment to excellent customer serv ice. Ultimately, Tanglewood’s philosophy and culture is to promote excellent customer service and to provide an outstanding work environment.

Gender discrimination against women is out of control across the world and seeps into many aspects of women s lives. This discrimination harms women in two ways. First, women directly experience stressful events. The experience of sexism is so common that some research suggests women can experience one to two instances of everyday sexism. But women aren t only harmed by sexism through the physical stress caused by others. They are harmed to the extent that they internalize and adopt these sexist attitudes that can manifest as poor self-concept. This negative self-concept often obvious on a subconscious level, as women and men will demonstrate automatic negative biases against women (Ferguson, 2013). The article â€Å"The #LikeAGirl commercial is no way to empower young women† by the LA Times strongly suggest that this campaign is no way to empower girls and women around the world. As stated in this article â€Å"Running in place will always make you look as though you’re running like a girl. That’s because it’s not really running. It’s telling your audience, â€Å"Look at me, running!† -- which is a girl thing to do† (Allen, 2015). This article is suggesting that this commercial will only enhance the stereotypical views put label as being like a girl, and that the fact that the advertisement is for women’s menstrual pads does not help either.
